Take a Chance Monday on Tuesday: Another Flashback Poem

It’s Tuesday. I’m not sure what happened to Monday. It was a blur.
Today, I will be sharing another flashback poem. I wrote it sometime in the mid-1990s.

“The Tree Equals You”
I was running

I felt like the chained-up
poppies that were outside my window.

I bought a crescent moon for you in New Orleans.

A tree in Texas told me to come back to you . . .

But I put you in a box full of blues.

I still trip over your branches.

“Just a small town girl – living in a lonely world.” Concert tickets are practically essential. Musicals are the key to life. I like movies, music, books, and corny jokes.
