The pivot disc might be one of the best things ever invented. It’s simple but effective. When you want to transfer a patient who cannot turn, it can make a huge difference. The patient places their feet on the disc. After getting the person to a standing position, the caregiver will be able to transfer the resident with very little movement. I highly recommend using a gait belt during transfers with or without the disc.
