What is something that shocked you when you were younger that isn’t so shocking now?

When entertainers began to be open about their sexuality – gay, bisexual, etc.- I was always surprised. Now I’m surprised that I was surprised. The first one that I remember being open about homosexuality was Boy George. Back then I didn’t know what being gay was. I didn’t think I new anyone that was gay. (At the time, I was nine years old. Nobody in the third grade was coming out of the closet yet.)
So when Ricky Martin revealed that he was gay, I was not as surprised. Disappointed that I had lost my chance to be Mrs. Ricky Martin – maybe. I guess it wasn’t meant to be. If he’s happy, then I’m happy. Nothing can change the fact that he is just a man trying to do the best he can in this world. We can’t ask for anything more, except maybe a few more photographs or a few more guest appearances on “Glee.”

  1. Dr. Rex – Florida, USA – I'm originally from Puerto Rico. I was born in Santurce and raised in Rio Piedras. Have lived in Florida since 1999. I have a doctorate degree in Medicine; completed in 1976. My Internal Medicine specialty was completed in 1979. Worked for Puerto Rico's health system until 1985. At this time, I'm happily retired after working for the federal government for almost 28yrs. I want to offer any knowledge that I have to anyone "out there" who is interested. My views are liberal in almost every sense. My knowledge is "eclectic" - a bit of everything. Music and reading are my passion. Blogging has also become a very interesting endeavor. Metaphysical topics attract me. I'm interested in news reporting human issues like injustice, discrimination and abuse - the "wrongly" affected. My intention is to bring this knowledge to an understandable level and to help anyone in need. I'm open to questions and will answer them to the best of my ability. Currently working on an enterprise whose main mission will be to bring peoples of all walks of life together. To be one .... since we ALL are ONE!! The future looks bright and promising!!!

    Awesome …. there is so much more to him. You know about his twin sons, his involvement in stopping human trafficking, his foundation, he’s having centers build – I believe he calls them Tao Centers – his travels to India, Tibet … all spiritual places where he gets his inner peace. His house in Miami, another one in Puerto Rico (all near the beach). He has a very close relationship with his Mom, who helps him with his kids. His tattoos …. My gosh, I could go on and on and on and on …. I’ve seen him in concert, so close that I could see his sweat!!!

  4. Lucky - The Wise Sister of Pablo – This is the website created by my dear brother, Pablo. He was the loveliest boxer pup. Sadly, we lost him on 31 Jan 2021 at age 12. He was the one who first welcomed me into the family when Jose and Corinne took me off the streets. His was the shoulder I slept on and later the one I bullied! I am carrying on this website now to honour my brother, my friend, and the friend to all dogs!
