NaBloPoMo: Hot Mess Needs a Trip to the Beach

Advertisements

What do you do to nourish your soul when you feel emotionally depleted?

What do I do when I’m a hot mess, you ask?
If I need a recharge, then I make plans to go to the beach. Even if I don’t get in the water, I love sitting out in the sun and watching the waves. Sometimes I take pictures at the beach. I like swimming also. Sand is so messy but I don’t mind getting a little sand everywhere.
All I need to take is a towel, a book, a camera and flip-flops. Don’t forget the suntan lotion or sunscreen. No one needs a sunburn. I’ve been known to catnap at the beach and get sunburnt. This year, I might even take a big floppy hat. It should make for a nice photograph.
I have to admit that I love living by the lake during the summer.

Mom, wife, shuttler, writer, wanna-be photographer, journal-er of life, runner, scrapbooker, volunteer, music-lover. Our oldest son was born 14 weeks too soon. Our daughter arrived 12 1/2 months later (8 days past my due date). Our youngest is diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder, PDD-NOS. I write about it all.

  2. I love to retreat to my garden for some peace and quiet. if it is nice out, I grab a book and a glass of wine (or if cool, a pot of tea). All phones stay in the house!
