Saint of Cosplay: Daily Post

In 300 years, if you were to be named the patron saint of X, what would you like X to be? Places, activities, objects — all are fair game.

If I were the patron saint of anything in the world, I would choose to be the saint of comic book conventions. I think it is in the realm of possibility. Just the fact that I use the word “realm” so nonchalantly should attest to the fact that I am extremely interested in comic books and everything related to comic books. Whenever I go to a convention, I feel like I am with my people. My people dress up as characters from comics, movies and television shows. I think the correct term is cosplay, which is short for costume play. It sounds like heaven, doesn’t it? Well, maybe that’s just my idea of heaven.
So here is an idea, I could dress up like Lois Lane for this year’s comic book convention. I have my own press pass now. There are also Lois Lane press passes on Etsy. Another idea is to dress up like a different character – Wonder Woman, Rogue, Kitty Pryde, Black Widow . . . There are so many choices. She-Hulk would be fun and challenging. The body paint would have to be really excellent. The white tank and leather pants are simple enough. I have until October to decide.

You did get the press pass!??! Awesome!! I’m so excited for you! I’ve never really felt the need to attend a comicon – but apparently we have a Supernatural one each year in Dallas, so I may have to go and have that experience!
Can’t wait to see what you decide to cosplay as! You should start trying out outfits and posting them for me to see! 🙂

Wellll, I have the one I made myself that I can get laminated and a sparkly lanyard. 🙂 I’ll find out closer to September if the comic book convention gives me special privileges. 🙂 I’m hoping. I check my email like ten times a day just in case. That’s a good idea about the costumes.
And I’ll find out pretty soon if I get a backstage pass to Mayhem. 🙂 My boyfriend will be EXTREMELY excited about that.
From what I’ve read, I can use the pass I made myself just to identify myself at events. I think the Associated Press gives them out in special cases/emergencies.

Thanks!! I’m also hopeful!! 🙂 Free admission would be good. Or meeting Manu Bennett from Spartacus. I might faint if that happens. lol
But he’s strong. He could catch me or something. 😉
