This year I have been to Cedar Point several times. Considering that I haven’t been there in at least eight years, I’ve tripled my Cedar Point attendance rate. Ok . . . maybe not tripled.
So I’m going to share a few pointers on making your trip to Cedar Point enjoyable.
1. Wear comfortable shoes. You will be walking a lot. Amusement parks are not the place for high heels.
2. Sunscreen. Shaded areas at Cedar Point are few and far between. Bring sunscreen with you. You will not regret it.
3. Also bring a small fortune for meals. If it’s possible, eat before or after your visit. A chicken finger meal costs about $15. I’m not joking.
4. Remember to protect your cameras and phones on the water rides. Ziploc bags will probably do the trick.
5. Charge your cell phones! You never know when your group will get separated. FYI: There is a lost person booth in the Kiddie Kingdom. If you get separated and your phone has died, you can leave a note for your group there. However, make sure everyone knows that that is the plan in case of separation. It is very important to make a plan of where and when to meet.
6. People go to people watch. So decide if you really want to make a statement with the orange knee-high fur boots and short shorts. Keep it classy! Not trashy!

So… comfy clothes and money for food plus photo behind a hot dog cutaway, gotcha lol 🙂
Yes. All of that. 🙂 Basically, have fun but be smart. 🙂
I can do that 🙂
I want to go there! My son went once, and we are close to Kings Dominion, which is owned by the same company.
Awesome! Maybe I’ll see you there! 🙂
Great list. We are going there in September for Bloggy Con (I think you are going too, right?). It has been a while. Food is DEFINITELY a big expense!
Yes. I’m going to the Bloggy Con! I would also recommend getting the souvenir drink cups. It costs $15 but you get free refills on the day of purchase. You can also bring them back after that for 99 cent refills. So it’s worth the $15 in the long run.
Thanks! Hope to see you in September! 🙂
Love that above tip in the comments on the souvenir cups! I had no idea about that! I LOVE Cedar Point. I haven’t been there in a while! Would love to go to Bloggy Con so I gotta save up!

I love Cedar Point. I used to spend at least 3 days a summer riding the front car of the Magnum….which tells you how long ago we moved away from Ohio! Comfy clothes, sneakers or really good flip flops are a must. We used to “tailgate” in the parking lot for lunch and dinner – it kind of paid for our tickets! Best roller coasters in the world!
My kids love it there! 🙂 Tailgating sounds fun. They used to have a picnic area. I miss that.
The best amusement park evahhhhhhhhhh! 🙂 My kids and I make it every year, even if we live in different states. 🙂
My kids love it there! I didn’t tell them when they were little that mommy was scared of heights. So now they all love roller coasters. My mom needed someone to ride with. lol 🙂
AND, I forgot to say, my oldest son’s wife loves it so much, she makes it their only summer destination, if they can only have one (though this summer they will get two).
I do like it. even if I just go for the people watching and bumper cars. 😉
I love your people watching point! That is one of my favorite activities at busy places like a theme park. Thanks for sharing with Hump Day Happenings.
Thanks! I wish I had more time for people watching. On the last few trips, I was busy watching my kids. 🙂
While a single meal can be expensive, there are ways to substantially cut the costs like by purchasing the meal plans and the souvenir drink cups.
