Have you ever had someone break your heart?
Yes, I’ve had my heart broken before. Who knows why it was worse than other break-ups? The break-up surprised me a little. Everything seemed to be okay between us. He always seemed happy. Obviously, he was not.
I spent weeks crying. Those were some long days. It was all I could do to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I ate and cried. Cried and ate. It’s such a mess when you cry into the peanut butter. Tears and peanut butter are not a good combination.
The crying was pretty constant for a while. There were some days that I almost had to leave work because I was on the verge of tears.
Finally, I was able to sit by the pool without crying. Really, who cries at the pool? I mean, besides kids that don’t want to get out for the swimming break.
I don’t remember why or how I stopped crying. I’m pretty sure I knew red, puffy eyes were not attractive. It’s not like I was looking for a mate anyway.
How could I flirt with anyone with tears running down my face? It wasn’t time for a relationship but flirting would have been somewhat beneficial to my self-esteem.
Sobbing is such a mood killer.
