Train stations, airport terminals, subway stops: soulless spaces full of distracted, stressed zombies, or magical sets for fleeting, interlocking human stories?

Am I a weirdo because I love going to the airport? Seriously,I will volunteer to pick up people from the airport so that I can go to the airport. It’s better if I’m leaving on a plane but I’ll take what I can get.

On our last trip, Lucas and I were stuck for an extra four hours waiting for our flight. It wasn’t so bad for me. I wrote several blog posts and read a book.

It wasn’t so great for Lucas. While he was napping, some kids nearby kept throwing the ball in his direction. I think the ball actually bounced off of his leg at one point. Then the lady sitting next talked on the phone for at least an hour. When she was done talking on the phone, Lucas was her next conversation partner.

I always wonder where people are going and what their story is. Sometimes I make up stories about people.

Airports are excellent places to get ideas for stories. However, it’s not a great place for a nap.
