Which way was better: getting all of our news at a single point or two in the day, or the birth of the 24/7 news cycle, with news being reported all day long?
In my opinion, I like being able to get news whenever, wherever. It was ok to wait on the news before I had kids. Then kids happen and it becomes increasingly difficult to watch the news at a scheduled time. When they discover cartoons, forget it. Mommy time with the television is so limited and the newspaper is used mostly for craft projects.
At three in the morning, there isn’t anything else worth watching but CNN, unless there are “Pop Up Video” reruns on cable. Those were the good ol’ days – staying up with babies, watching the news and “Pop Up Video.”
This was on the entertainment section of CNN this morning. I can’t believe it’s been 20 years since she passed away.
