Reading with Nerd in the Brain: Challenges, etc.

books

I’ve been reading books. I swear.

Nerd in the Brain has some pretty cool reading and writing challenges that I just noticed today.

I’m doing fairly well on my challenges – the ones in my brain, not the ones for Nerd in the Brain. I’ve been keeping track of all of the books that I’ve read for 2015 on Goodreads. If you want to see what I’ve read or what I plan to read, that list is here:

https://www.goodreads.com/review/list/26532588?shelf=to-read

Or you could start your own list and share with everyone or no one.

So for this challenge, I started with “And the Mountains Echoed” by Khaled Hosseini. My book was stolen yesterday. No joking. I only had about 50 pages left. So I will have to pick up another copy in order to finish challenge #4 – a book that includes math.

The kids are reading books too. I might not have them do the challenges.  It could be fun. Or like pulling teeth.

It remains to be seen. I’ll be over here plotting fun reading things for my kids to do.

  1. Very excited for her challenges!!

  2. I’m gonna have to check out the challenge and the book… I listened to an audio of A Thousand Splendid Suns so I think I’d like the one you mentioned, provided not dirty, rotten their steals it!

  3. I do need to read more and self help books do not count 🙂

    1. Well, self-help books count . . . they would probably tell you that they are just as good as any book. Self-affirmations and so on. 😉

      1. Yes but I never get through the whole thing 😉

      2. ohhhhhh. 🙂

  4. I’m doing the goodreads challenge in which you choose the number of books to read during the year and then try to meet your own goal. So far, so good. I’ve been reading a lot more than I usually do.

    1. I have been doing that too! I had to increase my goal so that’s a plus. 🙂
