Tell us about a talent you’d love to have… but don’t.
It looks like I know what I’m doing with this bass – almost. In reality, I have no idea beyond the basic basics.
I’ve tried to learn how to play the guitar before. Something happens in my brain that won’t let me go past a certain point. Whatever part of the brain that controls math and music and all of that. It just doesn’t come together for me. Those things that make the creativity and the skill become one thing are just out of my grasp. I always feel like I hit a wall when I try to play a chord or do math when listening to heavy metal.
My friend did a study while we were in college. He played music, while a group of people listened to different types of music. When he played the heavy metal, I threw in the towel. There was no mosh pit to take out my frustration either.
So I write about music instead. It makes me feel like I’m still in the loop rather than hitting a wall.
Enjoy this video from j and the 9s! I’ll be over here stalking bands on Bandcamp and other things.
