Sleep Deprived Music Review: The Weeks

Sometimes I make mistakes. . . well, this one was more of an oversight. I save albums to listen to at a later time and then I forget about them. Today, I’m trying to fix that issue. How could someone forget about The Weeks?

Their latest album, Easy, should not be forgotten. Go listen to it right now! Don’t let it collect dust.

The lead singer, Cyle Barnes, has an amazing voice that is reminiscent of John Cafferty. In case you’ve forgotten, John Cafferty and The Beaver Brown Band were basically Eddie and the Cruisers. It’s ok, I forgot who the real band was too. So Cyle Barnes is like John Cafferty but less Jersey and more Southern indie rock.

Things that I love about this album:

  1. The lead singers voice  . . . it’s like fireworks and summer. Super hot.
  2. Horns. I love a good horn section.
  3. The whole band is pretty rockin’.

When I was a kid, I was a huge Bo Jackson fan. Not only do The Weeks have a song and an album called “Dear Bo Jackson,” two of the band members have a Twitter account, @DearBoJackson. It’s all about sports if you’re into that sort of thing.

The real Bo Jackson is also Twitter @BoJackson.

“Just a small town girl – living in a lonely world.” Concert tickets are practically essential. Musicals are the key to life. I like movies, music, books, and corny jokes.
