Sleep Deprived Music Review: Moses Sumney

NPR Tiny Desk Concerts have had so many great performers. If it weren’t for their shows, then many people would have missed out on a lot of musicians, like Moses Sumney.

Sumney released his album, Aromanticism in 2017. His songs have hints of R&B and soul but with more of a dream pop sound. So R&B with sythesizers but not like disco or 80s music. If you were dreaming that you were swimming in the ocean with the other mermaids then maybe Sumney would be playing at the mermaid bar.  Sumney’s voice is very relaxing and still interesting.

Things that are good about this album:

  1. I like the dream pop aspect. But I like swimming dreams too.
  2. The song, “Make Out in My Car,” is one of my favorite songs.
  3. There’s a flute! You don’t hear too many flutes, except for Jethro Tull and classical music.

“Just a small town girl – living in a lonely world.” Concert tickets are practically essential. Musicals are the key to life. I like movies, music, books, and corny jokes.
