Have you heard of Ed Balloon? How have I never heard of him before today?
Maybe because I haven’t been listening to as much hip-hop as I did before the beginning of this blog. So this is what happens – talented people fall off of the music radar. There are so many talented musical artists that one person can’t listen to everything.
Ed Balloon is back on the radar. He deserves all of our attention.
His latest album, Flourish, was released in October 2017. My favorite song on the album is “HOODxAir.”
It’s one of those albums that I can’t listen to with my kids in the car. My kids are already potty-mouths so maybe it won’t matter if they hear cursing.
Ed Balloon radiates joy, even when the topic of the song isn’t happy. He rises above all of the bullshit that weighs everyone else down.
I had a friend tell me to quit listening to sad songs. Now that I know about Ed Balloon, I might make it out of the pits of despair.
If you’re ever feeling sad, watch Ed Balloon’s video for “@ # trapkaraoke.” Ed Balloon is not an official cure for depression, but he could be.
