Jorja Smith vs Lauryn Hill: Sleep Deprived Music Spotlight

So I thought I would listen to this Lost and Found album by Jorja Smith. She seems popular and all. I’m not going to lie. The only thing I want in life is to find anyone that can replace or at least fill the spot that Lauryn Hill left in my heart. Back in the day, Lauryn Hill was beyond compare.

Then Hill had some kids and legal issues. Nothing was the same after her first album. It’s cool if people change. She wanted to focus on something besides her career. For whatever reason, when Hill came out with her second album, people didn’t relate to her like they did before, which is a shame. It would be impossible for anyone to live up to the success of her first album. Who can handle that much pressure?

People compare Smith to Lauryn Hill and other artists. This review was supposed to be an actual review of Smith’s album. There’s nothing wrong with the album. It’s just not what I was looking for. In this case, I’m stuck in 1998. I’m going to have to try to listen to it again when the 90s leave my heart.

Unfortunately, the spot in my heart is still empty and no Lauryn Hill.

P.S. Here’s a video of Lauryn Hill from 2016.

music reviews

“Just a small town girl – living in a lonely world.” Concert tickets are practically essential. Musicals are the key to life. I like movies, music, books, and corny jokes.

  1. Very interesting! I used to be a huge Lauryn Hill fan before she disappeared. I never heard of Jorja Smith, so Thankyou for introducing me to a new artist! I’m actually wouldn’t compare her to Lauryn Hill. From the video you posted here of Jorja Smith her style seems to be very different from Lauryn Hill’s. Thankyou for sharing!
