So Johnnyswim has a new album out but it also features two other bands – Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors aannnnd Penny and Sparrow.
I wondered if there would be too many cooks in the kitchen. Would there be so much going on with three separate bands in your ear at the same time? Nope. Whatever they did, it works.
Johnnyswim has a sound that everyone wants but not many achieve – acoustic soul. I was hoping to go see them in August but I think I have to be a good mom on that day instead.
Amanda Sudano of Johnnyswim is also the daughter of Donna Summer. I’m sure people want to compare her to her mom but I think she has her own sound. Sudano is married to Abner Ramirez, the other half of Johnnyswim. They just had their second child in April so that’s exciting – new babies and new albums.
