Dude,
My coffee maker bit the dust a few days ago. I need the coffee to remember to get a new coffee maker and also to do music reviews. If there’s no coffee, there’s no energy to do much of anything.
The band for today, Belmont, has so much energy. They must have coffeemakers for everyone in the band. How do punk/pop-punk bands have so much energy? I think it’s coffee and magic. Magical coffee maybe.
They have a really decent drummer, Brian Lada. I hate to say it but the drummer can make or break a band. If the drummer sucks, the band is not going to be that good no matter how talented everyone else is.
I love the album cover. It’s an accurate depiction of how the summer has been going at my house.
When I saw the song “Pushing Daisies” listed, I was hoping it was a cover of Ween’s”Push th’ Little Daisies.” It’s not but it’s still a good song. I also like “Hollowed Out” and “Recluse.”
Belmont is releasing a self-titled album on August 17. It’s their first album but they sound more experienced than some rookie bands. With more life experience and a good screamer/growler, they could be a good metalcore band. Wishful thinking on my part – not everyone wants to be in a metal band apparently. So check out Belmont – they like being in a punk band.
