Sleep Deprived Music Review: Hang Tight

Dude,

I know . . . I’m technically old enough to be a parent of everyone in Hang Tight. But gosh darn it – I still want to go surfing or watch someone surfing. And skateboarding. And the mosh pit. They might need a parent around or at least someone with band-aids.

So I’ve been listening to their album, Grind, and daydreaming about going to the beach and hanging out with young punks. I grew up in the country so I missed out on the beach and punk rock for quite a few years. This album reminds me that maybe in my heart I belong in California or somewhere with a decent punk rock/beach scene.

My favorite song on this album, “Pretty in True Blue.” I’ll just pretend it’s about me for a few minutes. That’s the magic of music, right?! It can transport you somewhere for a short time.

“Just a small town girl – living in a lonely world.” Concert tickets are practically essential. Musicals are the key to life. I like movies, music, books, and corny jokes.
