Sleep Deprived Music Review: Lily DeTaeye

Maybe I discovered Lily DeTaeye on Twitter. It’s too hard to say for sure. The point is that she is on the radar now. If you like Indie/Folk singers, then you will love Lily DeTaeye. Besides having a great singing voice, DeTaeye plays the piano, guitar, and ukulele.

Her EP “The EP,” came out in 2017. She writes her own songs. It’s awesome that people still do that. Let’s hope that she’ll come out with a new album sooner than later. It would be a shame if she didn’t keep making music.

Until then, you can probably catch DeTaeye’s live show if you are in the Des Moine, Iowa or Moline, Illinois area. FYI: Iowa has one of the most beautiful capitol buildings. Trust me. My parents took me to so many capitol buildings when I was young. I’m practically an expert.

So there are two things worth seeing in Iowa: Lily DeTaeye and the capitol building in Des Moine.

  1. The BookWorm Drinketh – I am Nicole and I am an avid reader and an alcohol connoisseur.. which it totally different from an alcoholic.. I swear. I am trying to get into the editing world and in doing so I learned that giving my opinions and networking in as many forms of media as I could is the way to get heard! I wanted to create an open forum to pair alcoholic drinks with books based on the theme, feel and/or content of the book. I will warn anyone who joins me here that you will get a very eclectic range of books as I will read anything from Rom Coms, sci-fi, and fantasy to Bizzaro, Steampunk and Biographies, whatever pairs with an interesting drink! I will also say that I am very honest and I will not pander to the popular or feel the need to give a good review just because I got an ARC read of a certain book. I believe that everyone deserves the truth no matter how much it hurts.. EVEN ME! I would love everyone’s opinions! AND LET THE DRINKS FLOW!! (Let’s just not have the drinks make the honesty get TOO out of hand!) ;p

  2. reocochran – I am experiencing crazy and hapless adventures in dating that may interest people over fifty. I am now 65 this year (2017) and enjoy taking photographs, incorporating stories or poetry on my blog. I have many old posts which are informative and written like essays. I have several love stories collected from family and friends. Even strangers spill their stories, since I am a grown version of the girl next door. I have been trying to live a healthy lifestyle with better food selections and active hiking and walking. I have written four children's books and illustrated them. They are not published but a battered women's shelter used one about neglect and abuse for their children's program and a 4H group used my "Kissing a Bunny is like saying a Prayer" as a coloring book. Please comment or respond so I may get a chance to know you. Sincerely, Robin

I pretty much stopped writing on my blog, Holley! I just wanted to personally thank you for your likes and touching base with me from time to time.
I will stop by and say a few words also since blogging from 2012 to last month really is part of my built in habits. Take care, my friend. <3

Aww. Thank you so much! <3 I've been trying to stay in contact with old friends and new ones. I went through a short period of not doing much on the blog and decided to get back into it.

I think breaks are great and you may need them. I certainly have been working in a new field and need time to learn and grow.
You’re so welcome and hope I will be better at staying in touch. ❤️ Take care, Holley and happy Fall season! 🌻🍁🌾
