Sleep Deprived Music Review: Contra

Well, I’m taking a break from my resolution to listen to more relaxed music. Today, I’m listening to Inertia by Contra. When you listen to Contra, you may think that they lack positivity. They are a rather loud metalcore band but some of their lyrics do contain a message about staying strong in the face of adversity.

Kevin of Contra stated,” Most of the album is about perseverance. Finding yourself in a shit place and pulling yourself out. Lyrically the album can get pretty dark but it all seems to have the light.”

3 Things that I like about the Inertia album:

1. The screamer vocalist is pretty awesome. His vocals are kind of scary and loud. The kind of loud that hurts your ears but it’s worth it.
2. The rest of the band are just as intense and loud.
3. There is a piano and a more relaxed vocalist. It’s called balance people. This band has balance that many of us are seeking in some way.
