Did you guys know that there is are some video and mobile games based on Jane Austen’s novels and the Regency Era?
Ever, Jane is a MMORPG ( Massively multiplayer online role-playing game). From what I’ve read on other sites, the game involves making your own character. There are parties, gossip and dinner parties. I would imagine that the point is to elevate the social standing of your character. It seems like a game that I would love and also hate myself for loving.
Austen Translation is a fairly new role-playing game. You can play against four actual humans. This game looks like it’s all about strategy. I don’t think the point is to get married. In fact, it could be the opposite – to NOT get married. I’m curious to see what it’s like though.
Possession of a Good Fortune is a mobile game. You can raise your character’s social standing while you’re waiting in the doctor’s office or in the school pickup lane. It could be a decent way to pass the time.
*sigh*
None of these are the type of game I like – which is a gentle, easy little puzzle kind of game. (And really, doesn’t that sound more appropriate for Jane?)
Fun theme! Happy A-Z’ing.
