Band Name?

*The JAB (these questions are being answered by frontman Jam Alker)

What was the best thing to happen in 2019?

Recording CONSUME with the band in Lexington, KY—working with these lads has made the band a tightly-run machine, and we’ve made a ridiculously great album.

What are you looking forward to in 2020?

Touring with The JAB and seeing how far CONSUME can take us

Where was your first concert as a fan? As a performer?

As a fan, my first concert was Billy Idol when I was a kid. As a performer—the old high school talent show. I butchered “Tom Sawyer” by RUSH. Ughh, it was fucking horrible.

Do you think that there’s an alternate reality? If so, what is the alternate you doing?

If there is an alternate reality, the other me is probably still telling stories in some way, whether it’s through music or mind control. Probably mind control… oh, and I look like Spock in this other reality… and I have an English accent and I smoke an old-timey pipe.

New Year’s Resolutions. Yay or Nay?

Nah. Part of my trajectory is to always try to do my best, not just resolve to do it when the first of the year comes around.

What have been the best musical holiday moments in your life?

I really enjoy being able to use music as a way to give back. The holidays have been a great opportunity to play benefit concerts to help those less fortunate than me. That’s what I really enjoy about the holidays. Fuck consumerism. But have a happy holiday season! 😊👍

Favorite holiday song?

Otis Redding: “Merry Christmas, Baby” James Brown: “Santa Claus Go Straight To The Ghetto” Queen: “Thank God It’s Christmas” RUN DMC: “Christmas in Hollis”

Least favorite holiday song?

“The Christmas Song (Don’t Be Late)” by the Chipmunks. No offense to the Chipmunks, but those voices. No.

What do you want people to know about your music?

That it’s always coming from an authentic place. That it’s our truth and the truth isn’t always pretty. That’s it’s not a shiny thing that’s meant to distract, but instead, an imperfect, nuanced expression that is meant to make you feel more connected.

“Just a small town girl – living in a lonely world.” Concert tickets are practically essential. Musicals are the key to life. I like movies, music, books, and corny jokes.
