Do you think that old school blues could be the cure for the blues? If you want to test the theory, listen to the “Sorry You Couldn’t Make It,” the latest album from Swamp Dogg.
His music is a combination of country, R & B and the blues. It’s like some of the music that has been recorded at Muscle Shoals Sound Studio. In fact, Swamp Dogg has recorded music at Muscle Shoals.
The Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section was known as The Swampers, which is where Swamp Dogg got part of his stage name. In case you were wondering, he was around way before Snoop Dogg.
My favorite songs on the album are “Sleeping Without You is a Dragg” and “I’d Rather Be Your Used To Be.” All of the songs are solid though. You almost can’t go wrong by listening to Swamp Dogg’s music.
3. Where would you want to listen to this record?
If I could listen to this album anywhere that I choose, I would choose to go on a train ride. Hopefully, they have a box car with a dance floor. Is that a thing? Until then, it would be awesome to see Swamp Dogg live in concert.
