Lois D. Smith was working as an office manager for the Urban Hollow apartment complex when she was killed on April 8, 1981.
According to the Columbus Dispatch, Smith had just returned from lunch. The maintenance man saw her shortly before someone bludgeoned her to death. There had been other thefts at the same office so the police think that she may have surprised a thief.
Smith also lived at the apartment complex with her son, who was a teenager at the time.
It is totally possible that someone witnessed something that could help to solve this cold case. The incident occurred almost 40 years ago but hopefully, someone will come forward with information.
