Sleep Deprived Music Review: Jack Name

On Jack Name’s latest album, Magic Touch, you will hear music that is very mellow and pared down to only what is necessary . . . no extras, nothing fancy but still beautiful.

The music is so quiet and relaxing. It’s good music for reflecting on all of your life choices and looking towards the future. In “Losing My Way,” Jack Name says, “If you still have intuition, hold onto it. Don’t throw it away.”

Jack Name’s music on this album sounds like David Gilmour without electric guitar or the rest of Pink Floyd. If you can imagine Jackson Browne with just an acoustic guitar and also singing so softly that it’s a whisper, then you wouldn’t be too far off from Jack Name’s sound.

My personal favorite songs on the album are “Karolina” and “Losing My Way.”

If it were possible to travel to the 1970s, I think I would like to listen to this album in a sunken living room/conversation pit.

“Just a small town girl – living in a lonely world.” Concert tickets are practically essential. Musicals are the key to life. I like movies, music, books, and corny jokes.
