Sleep Deprived Music Review: Adia Victoria

The album,Silences, was released by Adia Victoria in 2019. If you have a minute, check out this album and also her new music.

Her music has been described as Gothic indie blues. It’s a little sad, powerful, haunting, beautiful. What else could you want from the blues? The lyrics remind me of when you’re at the point of no return – you’re gonna tell your truth, even if it’s not all sunshine. The album is called, “Silences,” but I don’t think Adia Victoria is going to actually be silent. I think it’s more about expressing what is on your mind when everything is still and silent.

Victoria is currently based in Nashville but was raised in South Carolina. Fun Fact: She has done an EP entirely in French.

If I could pick one setting for listening to this album, I would pick a jazz or blues club. Maybe somewhere like the Playboy clubs but without all of the misogyny.
