I have listened to the “Temple” album from Thao & The Get Down Stay Down several times. It really gets better every time I listen to it. Am I putting off doing this review so that I can keep listening to this album and not focus on doing anything else? Perhaps.
I would describe Thao & The Get Down Stay Down as indie funk. The bass is strong with this one. Plus, from what I can tell the lyrics are amazing. If the lyrics were not great, the bass is still great so no one can lose by listening to their music. A winning situation for everyone.
Thao & the Get Down doesn’t remind me of too many other bands. Maybe Beck but better than Beck. My favorite songs are “Temple” and “Pure Cinema.”
They have an apron in their merch section. I don’t cook enough to warrant buying an apron. So I’m trying to think of reasons that I should buy it anyway. What hobbies can someone do while wearing an apron? There are also t-shirts, music, and food products in their store.
Well, I think that I would like to listen to this album while wearing the apron to do arts and crafts. Would an apron get in the way of glassblowing if someone was taking a class? So someone could maybe wear an apron during a glassblowing workshop and listen to Thao & The Get Down Stay Down.
