If you need a challenging book challenge, let me suggest the Book Riot Book Challenge. Plus, there’s a PDF that you can print out and check books off. You can also use the same books for your Goodreads challenge if you want.

When I was a kid, I really loved it when the English teacher would give us a list of 100 or so books to read. It was nerdy and challenging.

At the moment, I’m reading “Hood Feminism” by Mikki Kendall. It has definitely been an eye-opener for me. No regrets.

The point of the Book Riot challenge is to read outside of the box. Read books that you wouldn’t normally read. Read books by authors that you have never heard of before. Expand your reading horizons.

“Just a small town girl – living in a lonely world.” Concert tickets are practically essential. Musicals are the key to life. I like movies, music, books, and corny jokes.

  1. Such a good idea.
I was thinking about the kinds of books I would read as a kid and young adult, and I NEVER go there now!
Not sure what happened apart from just the general exhaustion of living.
Another disturbing thing: when I open something to read, if I’m not pulled in in the first couple of pages or so (not even the first chapter) I generally just toss it aside.
My patience is gone. My sense of exploration is nil. My brain has evidently shrunk to the size of a walnut.
    So….yeah.
Book Riot Challenge–GOOD IDEA, lol !!!

Yessssss!!! Here’s to a less boring list of books! 😉

  2. Sadly, I don’t read anywhere near as much as I used to. I put the blame squarely on the internet and social media, writing music reviews, and the too-many other blogs I follow, where I spend absurd amounts of time reading stuff on a daily basis. It’s crazy, and I sometimes feel I should take a complete break from blogging and all social media so that I can get back to reading, watching more movies and doing jigsaw puzzles.

    1. Exactly! SO MUCH TIME. I’m like, “What am I doing?!” but I keep reading other people’s blogs as my life slips away….

Hey, you’re doing what you can. Visiting other blogs is very helpful and supportive. 🙂

  3. Oh, and PS: nothing against Chasing Destino, of course, which is always interesting and to the point, lol !!
