CHECK YOUR HEAD: Mental Help for Musicians Podcast and host Mari Fong has won a 2021 “People’s Choice” Podcast Award for “Best Asian Hosted Podcast.”
Fong commented, “I’m especially proud to be in this category because it was my parents, my Chinese Father, and my Japanese Mother, who instilled in me a strong work ethic, creativity, and gave me the love and confidence I needed to live a joyful, positive life. With a career as a music journalist and in healthcare, being the host and producer of the CHECK YOUR HEAD: Mental Help for Musicians Podcast came naturally for me, but having experienced depression and anxiety, firsthand, was really the catalyst.”
The podcast features interviews with musicians and mental health experts who share their stories and solutions for psychological wellness. I mean, Linda Rondstadt and Sean Long of While She Sleeps have been on the CHECK YOUR HEAD podcast so I’m sold. This would be a great time for sitting in the pickup line to pick up children, which is when I feel an incredible amount of anxiety.
I have never heard of this podcast before, but if it’s mental health, I’m definitely checking it out.
