Poetry Maybe #42: One Way Traffic

Didn’t see nothin

it’s true

how did they get involved

Shelly wanted to how to

make things right

for Nate’s sake.

They disappeared from a

Cage in the morning.

Chased the sunrise

to the next boathouse and

Swam to the yielding body.

They were bent on

a different desire
containing a few days

Of freedom

And one way traffic.

Will they separate

Before the game

Ends with blood and salt?

Count on the longing of

Her heart to be everlasting

  1. Always stick it out to the blood and salt, even if it’s not a good idea at all.
