Art-pop band Elk City of New Jersey has a new album out today. So to celebrate their new music, we are presenting their video for “Your Time Doesn’t Exist” as the Flawless Friday Video.
About the new single, Renée LoBue says “This is me being influenced by classic faves of
mine like R.E.M. and The Feelies. People have said it reminds them of 10,000 Maniacs. I
can’t argue with that. The most jangly jangle pop combined with my love of The Paisley
Underground. Right out of the gate, the song serves as a reminder that time is just a
construct. It’s a bit of an emotional check-in song.”
If you are a fan of R.E.M and 10,000 Maniacs, then you will love Elk City. You can find the links to their music below.
As of October 21, the ‘Above The Water’ album will be available through all fine digital outlets, including Apple Music, Tidal, Qobuz and Spotify, as well as Bandcamp, where it an already be ordered.

I stopped in Elk City, Oklahoma in late March 2006 while on the way from St. Louis to Phoenix. I’d driven through a huge thunderstorm that literally ended like a wall, and as I drove into Elk City, it was totally clear! Good song too!
weather can be weird. that is a cool story. Oklahoma is pretty. at least the part I drove through in 1997. 🙂
