Richmond, VA-based band Dazy will be releasing their album, Out of Body, on October 28.
“A lot of Dazy has been about pushing myself out of my comfort zones, and at first that just meant finally putting out new music at all,” James Goodson of Dazy explains. “I’ve always played in bands and made music, but before Dazy I’d been sort of stuck for a while. I never stopped writing songs but I wasn’t sure what to do with them, and they were piling up on my computer for years.”
Dazy’s music sounds like punk but without so much anger. I wouldn’t say that they are bubbly but definitely more upbeat than most punk rock bands. I think their lyrics are a thousand times better than just about any pop-punk band that we could name. Dazy’s music will age just as nicely as Tom DeLonge.
If Dazy was a little bit weirder, I would say Ween but they aren’t quite as quirky as Ween. My favorite songs on the album are “Roller Coaster Ride” and “Deadline.”
Dazy reminds me of some 90s pop-punk bands like the Pixies, Weezer, The Methadones with a hint of The Ramones. There is a song on the album called “Choose Yr Ramone.” I guess I would choose Joey Ramone because he is recognizable. Who would you choose?
I would like to listen to this album at a record store that sells real vinyl records. Check out where to buy this album at the links below.

“On my Way” is a great tune, really enjoyed that. Like the simple, yet quirky video too
Pretty good song. He must have a great PR rep, as I saw on his Twitter account that he got tons of reviews and write-ups for his new album.
Yes, I would agree with that – he does have good PR people. 🙂
