Welcome to The Book Addiction Tag! It would be fair to say that I am addicted to books. I have always been an avid reader and that probably won’t change.
The tag was found on the blogs of Riddhi at The Whispering Stories and Yolanda at Past Midnight. Please visit their blogs to see their bookish content.
Everyone is invited to participate. Comments and links are always welcome.
What is the longest amount of time you can comfortably go without picking up a book?
I can usually go without reading between 8 and 24 hours.
How many books do you carry on your person (or kindle) at any one time?
I usually carry one actual book with me. If I have my kindle, I will have at least one book that I am reading plus two ready to read – just in case.
Do you keep every book you buy/receive or are you happy to pass them on to make space for more?
I am the keeper of all books. My bookshelves are overflowing. When I get more bookshelves, I will fill those up too.
How long would you spend in a bookshop on a standard visit?
If I am by myself, I could spend at least two hours. If my children are with me, I will spend a half hour.
How much time per day do you actually spend reading?
I try to spend at least an hour every day with a book.
Where does the task ‘picking up a book’ appear on your daily to-do list?
I read in the evenings so it’s one of the last things that I do during the day.
Approximately how often do you bring up books in conversation?
Several times a week. I would talk about books more if I was doing any socializing.
What is the biggest book (page count) you have finished reading?
Is there a book you had to get your hands on against all odds (i.e searching bookshops, online digging, etc.)?
A book you struggled to finish but refused to DNF?
What are 3 of your main book goals for 2023?
- The Goodreads Book Challenge
- The Book Riot Read Harder Challenge
- To read more of my actual books
Have you ever had the privilege of converting someone into a reader (maybe via inspiration or incessant nagging)?
My youngest child finally likes reading! She’s 14 and a fan of The Lord of the Rings. I am very excited about her fairly new love of books.
Describe what books mean to you in five words.
Adventure. Education. Escape. Imagination. Challenge
I love this!
Thanks! 🙂
