Black Market Karma has collaborated with legendary musician-producer Sonic Boom (aka Pete Kember) on the single, “The Sour Truth.” The video with all of the nostalgic/retro vibes is the Flawless Friday Video for this week.
It really seems to capture the essence of the song, which cannot be easy. Nonetheless, Black Market Karma and Sonic Boom make it look effortless and eloquent.
Plus, there’s a castle in the background, which is cool. It could be Dover Castle but I’m not 100% sure. I have watched “Secrets of Great British Castles” too many times to count so I am practically an expert.

“Sometimes we can fall in love with the idea of a person as opposed to the reality of them, whether that’s through us seeing what we want to see, them projecting a falseness or a mix of both. The fall out of that curtain being pulled can be quite a painful feeling of cognitive dissonance. That’s kinda what this song is about. It’s also about when something that was previously blindingly bright, devolves into a noisy mess of finger pointing,” says Black Market Karma’s Stanley Belton.
‘Sour Truth’ has been released everywhere digitally, including Apple Music, Spotify and Bandcamp. It can also be ordered on transparent vinyl at www.flowerpowerrecords.com. Check out the links and video below.
‘THE SOUR TRUTH’ LYRICS
Honey I can feel you’re burning
On my part there’s only hurting
By my side does not come with ease
But your tempest heart gets me on my kneesHorror as I’m just now learning
-Black Market Karma,
The sour truth inside you churning
Sick and tired of being sick and tired
It was just a mirage that I admired
