Poetry Maybe #45: Captain of Six Hearts

Poetry Maybe #45: Captain of Six Hearts

oh merciful creature
please keep the captain
of my six hearts
from sailing to
trashy harbors
without buried treasure

Steer his sails
far from
majestic
prisons where
he might be kept
from windows and docks
doors and clocks

Keep the siren's throat sore and
their helpless minds
always puzzled
and unable to
execute one good verse

“Just a small town girl – living in a lonely world.” Concert tickets are practically essential. Musicals are the key to life. I like movies, music, books, and corny jokes.
