Meet and Greet: Adult Mom

Adult Mom

Who: Adult Mom is the solo project of Stevie Knipe.

What: They are releasing a new single, “Berlin.” It is awesome and lovely.

Why:

“‘Berlin’ is a song that took over a year to write. It’s about processing the loss of an important friendship without knowing the exact cause of the loss.” says Stevie Knipe (they / them), adding “Through loss, there are moments recalled, like meeting for the first time, the moment you got close with that person, singing “hole” in dorm rooms, drinking beer in a bathroom, and of course, the complete paralyzation that comes with loss. It’s about being in between healed and not, and trying my best to calculate the reasons why she left.”

Where: Adult Mom will be on tour with Palehound. You can find them in the following places.

El Perro del Mar. Photo credit: Martina Hoogland Ivanow

Who: El Perro del Mar of Sweden

What: All of the songs from El Perro del Mar seem to be lovely and sometimes heartbreaking. Her latest single is a cover of Burt Bacharach’s “Please Stay.”

Why: El Perro del Mar is quoted as saying, “It’s been on my mind for some time and when working on this album that’s all on dark matters I came to think about what would happen to the song if its original meaning of love and heartbreak was to be about death and the pleadings of having someone not die or return from the dead.”

-PANTOMATH

we are surrounded by “know it all” ‘s

Just because of my gender

I get a lot of man-splaining

Hey ho hey ho , i am smiling at you but i know you’re wrong!

You know better..

You can do it better..

So why aren’t you doing it yourself

Hey ho hey ho , i am smiling at you but i know you’re wrong!

There isn’t a special way, and if there was, would we want to know it?

Come on come on, yeah..

There isn’t one way for anything.

We are made different,

Our wishes are different

So please take that once and for all,

And stop showing me how life is..

Hey ho hey ho , i am smiling at you but i know you’re wrong!

Because you must know by now, you must know by now,

That i don’t give a shhhhhhhhh

There isn’t a special way, and if there was, would we want to know it?

Come on come on, yeah..

Let me tell you my little friend…
