Miss Judgy Judgmental’s Bible Study

001

Who wants to be in Miss Judgy Judgmental’s Bible Study? I don’t know anyone who does.
People want to be treated like human beings – with respect and kindness. Both respect and kindness are currently strange concepts to a lot of people.

The conversation at my house has been about whether Christians are their own worst enemy. I would have to agree that some Christians make it difficult for anyone to want to convert to Christianity.
Why would a non-Christian want to be a part of a group that doesn’t show compassion or tolerance for anyone who is different? The most famous or infamous example is the Westboro Baptist Church. I don’t want to waste another minute writing about them. It’s not for me to judge them. But they sure like judging other people.
Before I was a Christian, the Christians who were around were like the snobby kids at school. Even after becoming a Christian, the more experienced Christians were not especially welcoming.
It’s not that I haven’t met wonderful, compassionate Christians. It’s just that it is a rare breed.
I want to mention one group that helped me in a time of need. There is an organization called Church without Walls. The members in Tampa Bay, Florida were great people, who acted like Christians are supposed to. One woman gave her testimony about being with the wrong man. I know she was talking to me. It made a huge difference in my life. Isn’t that the point of being a Christian?

Cover of “Jolene” by Mike Risner.

It’s been a lazy Sunday. But I wanted to share a video of Mike Risner covering “Jolene.” He’s really talented. He’s in another band called Oktane. They should have some new stuff out soon.

This is a link to Mike’s facebook page with more info.
