Remember the 80s? The music was good but the clothes were horrible. I cringe whenever I see a shaker sweater or a Member’s Only jacket.
I wore those clothes because it’s what other people wore. I didn’t really want to stick out. Really, what choice did I have? I was a kid that didn’t know how to sew. I wish I could’ve made my own clothes, like Molly Ringwald in “Pretty in Pink.” However, the odds of looking like a hobo would be much higher.
Since I was only a kid, I didn’t have a job. So I wore what my parents bought -sometimes under extreme protest. I wasn’t allowed to dress like Madonna. The outfit in the “Lucky Star” video was my favorite.
I’m so glad the 80s are over. No more big hair or shaker sweaters. However, I am old enough to dress like Madonna. Maybe too old.
I wasn’t a kid in the 80’s but I still wore those awful clothes and big hair-dos.
HAHA! In the 80’s I was in my 20’s and I LOVED the clothes !! I still have some and I think they have come back around like 3 times : ) If I wasn’t so lazy I would attach a photo of my big hair. One day I will.
I almost forgot…you should have SEEN what I wore to one of Madonna’s first concerts.
OMG, 80s clothes were funny. 70s even funnier in many ways. Now I just wear basic classic shapes that work all the time (or at least I think they do!).

I swear I owned that yellow sweater pictured 🙂 It was my favorite!
I think I owned the red sweater. I know I had a green one with a white stripe too. 😉
🙂
I loved 80s clothes — I was in my 20s and I had the big hair to prove it.
