When was the last time you experienced writer’s block? What do you think brought it about — and how did you dig your way out of it?

In 2004, I started writing a children’s book. I really did not write anything until at least 2009. Nothing. No poetry. No essays. Not one creative word. The only thing I wrote was a term paper on special education.
After starting this blog last year, I try to write something everyday. Of course, I would love for every post to be spectacular. I’m working on the spectacular. It’s more important that writer’s write something. . . anything. There is always time to edit. I get delayed in the editing. Where can I get my own private editor?
It would also be nice to have a writing group closer to home. I like doing the Tipsy Lit prompts. Unfortunately, I have run out of booze. I am reminded of the quote by Ernest Hemingway: “Write Drunk. Edit Sober.”
The book that has helped many writers in “Writing Down the Bones” by Natalie Goldberg. Read this!! It will help to alleviate writer’s block.
Or bring some booze over and we can have a writing session. Sounds like fun, right? Unless I start laughing hysterically at my own jokes. I can’t make any promises. 🙂

I could be the worst cook in America. My boyfriend tells his friends about my cooking disasters. I'm glad someone is amused. I like movies, music, comic books and corny jokes.

  1. Well the MOTH (Man of the House) and I have long been connoisseurs of the under $10 bottles of wines, that is until recent years when we discovered some great wines for less. Now our challenge is to find good wine for under $5 – believe me they’re around. So the wine snobs would say we don’t drink wine we drink plonk!
