Tattoos: The Struggle is Real

Do you have a tattoo? If so, what’s the story behind your ink?
If you don’t have a tattoo, what might you consider getting
emblazoned on you skin?

It’s really difficult to take photos of your own tattoos. I have three tattoos but I only have pictures of two. If only I were left-handed . . .

Maybe it wouldn’t be so awkward to take a photo of the tattoo on my right shoulder if I could use my left hand. I’m just saying #thestruggleisreal.

I have two tattoos of Kanji – dreams and truth. My other tattoo is a compass rose. My kid’s initials are W, S and E. So far I don’t have a child with N. For now, we’re just saying N is for “No More Babies.” Whatever works.

Someday I would like to have another design around my Kanji tattoos. However, I’m not one of those people that sacrifice too much to get a tattoo. I like having electricity and food so the tattoos have to wait.

“Just a small town girl – living in a lonely world.” Concert tickets are practically essential. Musicals are the key to life. I like movies, music, books, and corny jokes.

  1. I’ve thought about getting a tattoo but haven’t for two reasons. One, I have a bad reaction to all things metal, even stainless steel, just getting blood taken or having an IV put in makes me itch for days. So the idea of being poked many many times with a needle sends shivers through me. Two, those things are hella expensive and whenever I get the urge to get one, I never have the money for it. ^_^

    1. Thanks! I need some more work done on it. Just color. It was the most painful tattoo. That S at the bottom was a killer. Almost a deal breaker. 😉

  2. Haha I’m with you on the tattoos have to wait. It’s funny, I got my first tattoo at 30 and the second about a week later. I was single then and without Baby Boy. I said the second was to have balance, so I’d have 2. Then I wanted another because odd numbers are OK after all lol

I have a rose breaking through glass on my ribcage and a light shining through heart on my front hip.

  3. I have 4 now… I just got the latest in November where my mom and sister got matching tatts. I bought them for their xmas gifts. 🙂 Nothing says I love you like matching tatts. 😀

  4. My oldest daughter has a mythical flying dragon on her lower back. My youngest has the word “Believe” on her wrist. My son has odds and ends thst look like symbols. My DIL has a giraffe on her forearm. I have considered having a bird on my shoulder or dragonfly. Smiles, Robin
