Wonder Woman Uniform: NaBloPoMo

Is there something you wear that makes you feel happy?

This year my favorite shirt is my Wonder Woman shirt. It’s really comfortable. So far the color hasn’t faded, even after multiple washings.

I try not to wear it too much. If I could wear it everyday, I think I would. I wish I could have a whole closet of Wonder Woman shirts. My blogging uniform could be a Wonder Woman shirt, jeans and red shoes. On special occasions, I could wear the tiara.

I found this article about people who dress the same all of the time. Interesting. I never thought about Slash and his top hat being a uniform but I guess it is. It’s all about branding and being recognized.

Someday, maybe I’ll be recognized because of my Wonder Woman uniform.

Undercover Rock Journalist: Wine Follies

winebox

I had some Cabernet. . . from a box . . . in a plastic cup. It needed ice because it was too warm. I added the ice but it was still terrible. What can you do? Next time, I’ll go with the white wine. Let’s hope it’s not so warm and awful. Let’s also hope it’s not from a box.

The lady in the photo and I were both at the same bar listening to local bands. This lady is what I imagine I will look like in 20 years. She even had a red purse and a funky hat like I do. She looked a little grumpy sometimes. Other times, I thought she was falling asleep. Then she got out the journals and notebooks. I suspect she was an undercover rock journalist. I have seen my future and it is this lady.

Johnny Wore Black: Album Review

PromoImage

When I saw the album cover for “Walking Underwater” by Johnny Wore Black, I thought I would really enjoy this album. I was wrong.  Unfortunately, I did not enjoy the music as much as the cover. Seriously, I would frame the photograph and hang it on the wall next to Manu Bennett.

It’s not that the music is terrible. The musicians are good. The lyrics are fine. On the other hand, most of the songs sound the same.

The things is that the singers voice got on my nerves. His voice seemed to fall flat. I was expecting someone that sounded slick, like Robert Palmer. I was hoping for a voice that was a little bit gritty. You know, a voice with substance, like Robert Plant. Johnny Wore Black sounds a little bit like the Pet Shop Boys.  I didn’t like the Pet Shop Boys either.

I’ve included several links. Check them out. Let me know what you think of the music.
