Sister Eve, Private Eye: Book Review

It has been awhile since I read a mystery. I used to read all sort of mystery novels. At one point, I was a member of a mystery novel club. It wasn’t so much a club as a monthly subscription to books.

I have to be honest. I really enjoyed this book. It reminded me of reading an Agatha Christie novel and never being able to guess the end. It also reminded me of “Father Dowling” mysteries. I love not being able to guess who did it. If it’s too easy to guess, then it’s so disappointing.

In this book, we are introduced to Sister Evangeline and her very dysfunctional family. Sister Eve is a pretty cool sister. She rides motorcycles, gets speeding tickets and loves animals. I feel like we could be kindred spirits almost.

Sister Eve takes a leave of absence from the convent in order to take care of her father, who is a private detective. Of course, all of this is happening during one of his investigations that becomes a high profile homicide case.

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes detective novels, mysteries or nuns.

* Yeah, yeah. I received this book in exchange for doing a review.*

“Just a small town girl – living in a lonely world.” Concert tickets are practically essential. Musicals are the key to life. I like movies, music, books, and corny jokes.
