How many times have any of us wanted to apologize for not being right for someone – maybe even to our parents and children?
C.J., the main character of Sorry I Wasn’t What You Needed by James Bailey, has been away from his extremely dysfunctional family for several years. He lives with his girlfriend, Mindy, who he really isn’t in love with.
After his father commits suicide, C.J. comes back home. He has a lot to sort out – his relationship with his mother and siblings, his father’s belongings and wondering what led to his father’s death.
I was curious to see what would happen with C.J. Up until this point, he has been an underachiever. He’s not really motivated to do anything or make any real connections with people.
I won’t spoil the ending for you. It’s a pretty decent book and I would tell you guys to read it. I think that I found it on The Fussy Librarian .
You can also find it on Amazon or the author’s website.
This is so true! Fantastic post, I might have to check out the book 🙂
Thank you! Hope you can check it out!
I added this book to my TBR because it sounds like it would kick me right in the feels. It sounds emotional and wonderful. Thanks for putting it on my radar.
Awesome! And you’re welcome! 🙂
