Are you a Janeite? Do you know what it means to be a Janeite? Until recently, I had no idea there were Janeites. There are people who are superfans of Jane Austen. They love Jane Austen as much as other people love superheroes or rockstars.
According to the definition in the image above, then I would fit into the Janeite category. The definition of a Janeite according to Austen scholar Claudia Johnson is “the self-consciously idolatrous enthusiasm for ‘Jane’ and every detail relative to her.” https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Janeite
How obsessed are you with Jane Austen?
i adore jane austen (my mum’s name is Jayne Austin, similar enough IMO) and i was an enlish lit major studying 19th century british literature. but as much as i love her books i don’t know every little detail about jane austen herself so i guess i’m just a fan.
