My friend, Cari, made this handbag for me many, many years ago. It is one of the few things that I’ve kept. I just can’t part with it.
I’m also back on the Etsy kick. I can’t part with Etsy either. 🙂
If you could permanently get rid of one worry, what would it be?
If I could not worry about money, that would be fabulous. I try not to worry about finances. Sometimes it creeps up on me, especially with Christmas right around the corner. There are always a ton of things that we need to do – like put the walls back up in the bathroom, paint a few more rooms, get my brakes done and tires replaced. It’s just the short list. There are about ten more things. Don’t worry, the brakes will be done soon!
It’s time to put some money into this car, even though I would rather not. It’s a necessary evil I’m afraid.
So after the brakes are finished, I can worry about Christmas presents instead. I always worry about what to get the kids. It usually works out and everyone is happy.
I did find this helpful post on pinterest about saving money for Christmas. People have probably been doing this for a long time. It’s good to have a plan though. I would definitely need to have this money somewhere difficult to get to. My grandma used to hide her money. We probably will never find it all. I used to hide my money too. Then I couldn’t remember where I put it, so that was the end of that plan.
Last year, I bought several presents on Etsy. I like buying from crafty people, who are probably a lot like me and trying to make a living. Just a few suggestions. There are so many great Etsy stores.
So besides organizing, I’ve also been stocking my Etsy store. https://www.etsy.com/shop/EvaDivaPhotography
I edited some pictures, added new pictures. It occurred to me that I should put my name on the photos or at least the photography name. So I did that too.
I’m considering doing some scrapbooking items. It would be mostly punched out things – witches, flowers and maybe a snowman. I haven’t decided on that yet but it’s a possibility. What do you guys think? Should I diversify into scrapbooking stuff or stick to photography?
Hopefully, later in the week, I will be back to a regular blogging schedule. I’m still on the blog, just cutting back this week.
This holiday season, I’m going to do the majority of my shopping on Etsy. Lately, I have seen some really beautiful things on Etsy, like scarves, jewelry and handmade handbags. Personally, I would like to support the people that put their time and energy into making the items. I know some of the shop owners post vintage stuff that is already made.
It would be great if I could find a local toy store so that I don’t have to give all of my money to Wal-Mart. It’s debatable to know if Wal-Mart needs my money. I know for sure that local mom & pop stores do.
It is scary to think that someday small, locally owned stores possibly won’t exist. The small stores are usually so charming and unique. It would be a shame to lose the mom and pop stores because we have forgotten about them.
So I challenge everyone, myself included, to do more holiday shopping at Etsy or at a local store in your area. Let’s see if we can shop local beyond the holidays also.
