Share Your World: Hugs and Heart-Shaped Rocks

List 2 things you have to be happy about?

  1. I cleaned my kitchen. It looks like real people live there again. Well, people that don’t have so much clutter live here.
  2. I’ve been getting back to a blogging routine without feeling pressure to be perfect or go viral. I still have that FOMO thing. Fear of Missing Out. However, I also have that thing where I don’t want to leave the house or talk to people. It’s a struggle for sure.

Have you ever owned a rock, pet rock, or gem that is not jewelry? Yes, I had a heart-shaped rock that I kept from one of the first camping trips that I went on with my boyfriend. I don’t know where the rock is but I still have the boyfriend.

Are you a hugger or a non-hugger? Usually, I’m a non-hugger. I’m trying to be more open to the idea.

What inspired you or what did you appreciate this past week? I’ve been watching a lot of Small Desk Concerts on YouTube. Singers that I like on YouTube: Allen Stone, Marc Broussard and Brian Owens.

Summer Shenanigans

What is your favorite month of the year?

July. Lots of concerts. Summer shenanigans.

Do you drink coffee at all?

Yes. Yes. Yes.

I also participate in the Weekend Coffee Share posts. You can find the link-up at Part-Time Monster’s page. Always a good time.

What was one of your first moneymaking jobs (other than babysitting or newspaper delivery)?

A dishwasher. Worst. Job. Ever.

Free Opera Tickets, Bitches! No. Just a Mood Swing

In a car would you rather drive or be a passenger?

It depends on who is with me. Usually, I would rather be the passenger. I’m just not a good driver. However, I am not the worst. I had a friend that was the worst driver ever.

If you were handed free opera tickets, would you go or sell them? Why?

I would go. I like opera. I’m a well-rounded music fan. Plus, I haven’t been to the opera. Cross it off of the bucket list and move on to the next experience.

Describe your own outlook on life in seven words or less. (NOTE:  does not necessarily have to be a sentence.)

*This part is NSFW. Just sayin. *

Which would you prefer:  a wild, turbulent life filled with joy, sorrow, passion, and adventure–intoxicating successes and stunning setbacks; or a contented bordering on happy, secure, predictable life surrounded by friends and family without such wide swings of fortune and mood?

I will take the wild, crazy life. I’ve been bored before. It is sooo boring.

I’m Dreaming of a White Wedding: Share Your World #25

What did you or did not like about the first apartment you ever rented?

When my roommate and I moved in, we had decent neighbors. Then one day, our cool neighbors moved out and these two jerks moved in. One day, the parking lot is fine. Then it soon became an issue of double-parking on a regular basis.

My roomie left a note on one of their cars. The neighbor put the note on my car. I’m not even sure why they put it on my car. I don’t know how they got the idea that I was the outspoken one. I did drink more back then . . . Still, I did not write the note.

We also had some newer neighbors across the street that were thieves. My roommate and I both had our cars stolen. They did leave a pair of panties in her car. They didn’t leave much of anything in my car. It was almost empty when the cops found it.

What kind of art is your favorite? Why?

Imogen Cunningham

Photography. A picture can say . . . oh you know the saying. One picture can express a lot. (that’s not the saying.)

How many siblings do you have? What’s your birth order?

It’s a long story. I have a half-brother and a half-sister, who has passed away. I was raised an only child. So I missed out on all of that sibling rivalry crap. It would have been nice to have someone to play games with though.

I also have many step-sisters. There might be a step-brother in the mix. The birth order depends on if you include step-siblings or not.

Complete this sentence:  I’m dreaming of a white …. (and no you can’t use Christmas as your answer)

Wedding. It’s a nice day for a white wedding. 🙂

I’m dreaming of a white beach party where everyone wears white. Not really, but it would be pretty.

If I were going to get married, I’d like to have a fairy/beach/rockin dress. No pressure. It might not exist.  On the other hand, it could be like one of these dresses. I almost couldn’t find my wedding board on Pinterest. I don’t use it much since I’m not planning on getting married in this decade.

How Do You Keep the Boogie Man Away?: Share Your World #19

Would you prefer a one floor house or multiple levels?

It doesn’t matter. I’ve lived in both.

Yes, please.

If you have a TV, would you prefer the TV in the living room or another room?

We have a tv in each bedroom. We don’t have cable. That sounds weird, right?! We mostly watch movies on DVDs, VHS or Netflix.

When you leave a room, do you turn the lights off behind you or keep the lights on throughout your house most of the time? Explain your answer.

I turn the lights off. If Lucas is gone for the night, then I leave one light on and lock every darned door possible. You know, to keep the boogie man away and stuff.

Knitmare on Elm Street by Hannah Simpson

If I knew how to knit, I would buy this. I considered buying it anyway because it is so cool. I could knit and have weapons. Knitting needles are dangerous.

So that’s what I learned in self-defense class . . . or was it MacGyver . . . use whatever you can as a weapon. Most of the time, I use words. I don’t think the Boogie Man will be affected by words.

Anyway, here’s a post with some self-defense tips.

What’s your favorite room in your home?

I guess I like the bedroom. There’s a door with a lock on it and a tv. So I can watch movies, while the boogie man tries to scare me. The second favorite is the bathroom. Also a lock and weapons that heat up (aka curling iron and flat iron.)

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I’m grateful that I was able to do some bucket list stuff. I’m so excited that Warped Tour is in less than 10 days. There are so many bands that I actually want to see. I’ve interviewed several bands that are on Warped Tour. I’m going to be doing a few more interviews that will be posted somewhere in the next few weeks too.

Flip-Flop Traveler: #ShareYourWorld

What type of pets do you have or want?  Or do you not want pets?

We have a goldfish. I would not mind having a cat but I’m okay with not having pets. Then I see a cute puppy like this and I’m confused all over again.

When you’re alone at home, do you wear shoes, socks, slippers, or go barefoot?

Barefoot. I also wear flip-flops a lot. In fact, I’m wearing flip-flops right now.

Are you a traveler or a homebody?

Both. I like to go places. Some days, I don’t want to leave the house.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I’m grateful that I’m going to be working 1st shift again. Of course, I need to get a second alarm clock again. Today. I need to buy one today. Guess who has crazy morning hair? Guess who had to go to work like that for several reasons? Oh yes, I sure did wear crazy morning hair to work.

maps & lottery tickets: #MondayBlogs

What are your favorite spices?

Variety. And garlic.

I borrowed this shirt from my daughter yesterday. It’s one of my favorites.

What object do you always have with you when traveling and why?

A road atlas. Remember? A book of maps. My GPS is a liar. We’ve ended up in one too many parking garages because of her lies.

Now I know that I can make DIY art projects out of old maps.

What is one thing you love about being an adult?
I can buy alcohol and lottery tickets if i want.

What item, that you don’t have already, would you most like to own?

I would like a Wonder Woman patch. Also, I’m still waiting on my kid to draw Lumpy Space Princess for me. There’s a spot on my wall of fame for it.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I’m grateful that I did not have a heart attack. I’ll be working first shift for the next two weeks. It will be like having a real life for a minute.
Plus, I have interviews to do. Good times!

I also just found out that I was chosen to be a photographer at Colossalcon in June. They said no . . . . BUT THEN THEY SAID YESSSSS!! I love it when no turns into yes.

Waving at Strangers.

Regarding your fridge, is it organized or a mess inside?

Ummmmm. I don’t know. I only know if there’s cheese and coffee creamer in there. Sometimes I look for pop that I forgot to buy. If it’s organized, it’s not my fault.

Have you ever been a participant in a parade? What did you do?

When I was in Girl Scouts, I was in the Halloween parade. I also walked in a Halloween parade with my kids when they were Girl Scouts. I remember lots of waving at strangers.

How do you stand out from the crowd?

It’s easy when you’re laughing at inappropriate moments by yourself in the corner. And because I’m probably sitting or possibly laying on the floor.

How many bones, if any, have you broken?

Three. None on anyone else though.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

It’s top secret.

Acoustic Music, Wonder Woman Skirt and Higher Standards

What type of music relaxes you the most or do you prefer silence?

Acoustic music usually does the trick.

Show us a two of your favorites photographs?  Explain why they are your favorite.   If you are not a photographer, think of a two favorite scenes in your life and tell us about them.

My oldest daughter wore the Wonder Woman skirt. It was unexpected.

My youngest daughter wore the Wonder Woman skirt. She ran down the hall for the better part of the day. It is just who she is. The running was expected. I just hadn’t seen her run dressed as Wonder Woman before.

What is your favorite tradition? (family tradition, church tradition, whatever)

Dressing up for Halloween.

If you could go back and talk to yourself at age 18 what advice would you give yourself?  Or if you are younger than 25 what words of wisdom would you like to tell yourself at age 50?

Don’t settle for Mr. Right Now. It will not be worth all of the aggravation. Wait for someone better for you.

rockstar and a princess: Share Your World

List 2 things you have to be happy about?

A. My boyfriend was in the paper.

B. Now I can watch him on YouTube when I miss him. I didn’t have to chase him down the hall to get him to be my boyfriend. I was just really, really persistent until he was mine.

Do you prefer ketchup or mustard or mayonnaise?

It depends. I eat a lot of pb&j so none of those match.

If you were to paint a picture of your childhood, what colors would you use?

Yellow & pink & 10 other colors

Until I was 13 and then it was black.

Do you prefer a bath or shower?

Bath. I’m too lazy to stand that long. But really, my body hurts down to my bones.
