Since I was young, I have not had much luck with being a follower. I haven’t had much luck with being a leader either. Sometimes, especially in gym class, I tried to blend in so no one would notice how much my athletic skills are lacking.
When I have tried to follow the leader, it hasn’t always felt genuine. I didn’t go to a big university or join the military because it would not have worked for me. So I found a nice, small university that was a good fit for me. Even though I met a guy at Cedar Point that tried to get me to change my mind about where to go, I stuck with my first choice. He came up to me and said, “Don’t go to that school!” What if I had followed his advice? The chances of being miserable would have been high. It’s not worth it to follow the advice of someone who doesn’t really care.
So I will continue to follow whatever path feels right because that’s what feels true to me.
You said it… I will follow the path that feels true to me… My own saying is ‘There is no right way, only your own way’… Probably inspired from Frank Sinatra and Robbie Williams singing My Way… Beautiful Blog and posts you are creating… Barbara
That’s a great song! Thanks- it’s not what I planned but it has evolved. So I’m happy with that. 🙂
“So I will continue to follow whatever path feels right because that’s what feels true to me.” The exact way I choose to live, more and more every day.
