Do I work well under pressure? I hate to say that it depends. But it depends.
If someone is bleeding, I’m too busy trying not to pass out. I try to be as helpful as I can. I’m really good at opening band-aids or gauze wrapping under pressure.
If someone is on the floor, then I’m awesome. I work really well to get with everyone to get the resident off of the floor.
When my child broke her arm, I did not do well under pressure. I knew it was a bad break – right above her elbow. It’s different when it’s your child that is in pain. At least, I thought it felt different.
On the other hand, I do fairly well during Trivial Pursuit games. I am also able to meet most writing or homework deadlines. Pressure isn’t all bad, but I could do without things like broken arms and blood. No more talking about it so I don’t pass out at the computer. 🙂
I feel you on that blood business.
Yes the pain of your children whether emotional or physical is very hard to deal with
My parents feel that the way I and my younger brother fight, one of us is going to be seriously injured! But when last week my brother fell off the stairs, I was literally breathless and was surprised myself of how much I care for him…
Your post reminded me of that time 🙂
