Vera Wang was an Ice Skater

How did I not know until recently that Vera Wang was an ice skater? She competed in the U.S. Championships but did not go to the Olympics. She is ambitious, which is an admirable trait. Who doesn’t love Vera Wang? The wedding collection alone is reason enough.

Before she was a fashion mogul, Wang would sketch designs of ice skating costumes that she wanted to wear. I love the idea of a 10 year old Vera sketching designs of her own outfits. She is proof that people can work to make their dreams come true.
Wang also designed Nancy Kerrigan’s 1994 Olympic outfit. You know . . . this one

FYI: Vera Wang is also in the U.S. Figure Skating Hall of Fame. She rocks!
