If you have children, what lies have you told your own children? Do you think it’s okay as an adult to lie to someone else’s child?
When my oldest daughter, a picky eater, was about three years old, I lied to her. I told her the pork was chicken. If she thought it was the meat was not chicken, then she wouldn’t eat it. So in an attempt to get her to eat, I lied about food. Honesty is the best policy; however, parent’s of picky eaters are desperate. We will do anything to get our kids to eat. Most of us are not above bribery.
Parents out there probably understand what it is like to have a child that is a picky eater. I thought that if she would at least try the food, then it was possible for her to like something . . . anything.
I would not tell other children the same lie. It’s up to their own parents to lie to them about food.
